Fresh air breathing system

If you smell it or breathe it, it’s too late!

It amazes me some time, people will spend a great deal of money on paint sprayers, only to buy a 30 dollar paint respirator! The chemicals being sprayed or brushed are very caustic! The lungs are very vulnerable to chemicals! Cancer causing, maybe not now, but in later years! Even sandblasting, the dust is horrible and easily inhaled! or when sanding old rusty metal!

Today I was applying some aircraft paint remover on the engine compartment of my 59 Apache. I thought I could  just use my power cat blower to push the fumes out, wrong! I hooked up my fresh air breathing system, and went to work! Now, no worries for my breathing nor my eyes! http://www.turbineproducts.com/servlet/Detail?no=3

This is the heart of my fresh air breathing system! Sounds like a vacuum cleaner when it running. It has rheostat to control how much air I get. During the summer, I’ll put this part in my air conditioned area, and have cool air pumped to whatever mask I use.

I bought 100′ of hose and put it on a wind up hose reel for quick use and storage.

This mask is obviously only for the mouth and nose. This is what my breathing machine came with initially. but~~~

Not long ago, I had a sandblaster. The regular hood that the sandblasters come with~ I’d  sweat like a pig! and fog up! But this full hood or sandblasting hood? Wow! I piped AC’d air to it and blasted with comfort!

But when possible, which is about always, I like the full face mask! It protects my eyes as well! No fumes touch my eyes! It’s awesome! It’s comfortable and keeps me safe from fumes, dust and other particles that I don’t want in my lungs!

I hope this has been inspirational for you protecting the most valuable part during your projects~ your lungs and eyes!  I bought mine from Ebay~ are they cheap? how much are your lungs and eyes worth?  ; )
