Jurassic park jeep build

Hi yall! I may as well let you guys in on a recent project~ on August 17,2020, I bought a 1992 Jeep Wrangler for the soul intention of making it a Jurassic park jeep! How exciting!;)  ’92 wrangler was the year this jeep was used in the first Jurassic Park. I’ve always loved the movies, despite they get a little dumb sometimes.  However I believe it was the Sahara edition which made it special with the green interior/ seats etc.  I’m sure there’s a great deal of info out there on it.  The green seats just can’t be found anymore it seems:(  Haven’t decided on a number yet, and I’m not going with #12! lol

Though the picture looks like the jeep is in good condition, alas, it is not~ ok, it will be a complete restoration as usual;)  I suppose at least it wasn’t totally rusted out as they were known for.

I still never figured out what could have done this damage and just figured, meh, I can fix that!

This is a little different for yours truly as this a more modern engine with EFI. This is the 4.0 straight 6 cylinder, a monster of on engine in physical size! Many came with an under powered 4 cylinder.

Still haven’t decided to do Air conditioning or not, it’s only an additional 1000 bucks!

below: I was kind in a way that the engine might be “OK”, but a compression test revealed a really low cylinder and that’s all it took for me to say, pull it out, refresh it and it’s got to look great! Of course;)

I’ll be breaking down the build soon enough~ here the mammoth engine is being put on the heavy duty engine stand and still worried me, but it did well! thank goodness! Actually wasn’t on the stand for very long as I took it to be rebuilt;)

I found this jeep on Craigslist(where else), it was only 20 minutes from our home, so I drove it and luckily made it home! Despite its poor running performance, I enjoyed the power steering and power brakes, not to mention the 5 speed transmission is awesome! 😉

I always wondered about the driver, he probably just looks at the dinosaurs, like meh~ yeah, see em all the time! lol

I’ve got enough stuff to blog about for many weeks, but I’ll bide my time and sneak them out to you!

Have a wonderful day! Watch Jurassic park tonight and have fun!

Gee Cliff~ you need to at least see the first Jurassic park;) It’s fun and fun to depict, but I always appreciate seeing your responses! As with most follow up JP’s, they get more and more dopey! I hope to make this ’92 Jeep YJ a fine restoration and you’ll be right there along with me;)

I had seen that movie, it is very interesting and entertaining. I am a jeep lover. I had recently bought an old jeep but some of its parts are not functioning properly. Then I heard about Parts Breakers, they are selling old jeep parts at a reasonable rate. Now I am enjoying my trip in my jeep.
