’62 jeep quarter panel repair panel
Oh boy~ something to blog about finally! Hey, it’s me Dne’, your intelligently gifted hostess, fabricator, restoration master(ha) of Classic Cars & Tools! 😉
Not terribly long ago, my equally intelligent brother, ok, not quite as intelligent as yours truly~ haha~ bought a ‘1962 Willys Jeep, which launched a full scale restoration!
oh, this blog is about the repair of a right rear “quarter panel”. Seems like I heard the previous owner said someone clipped a tree. You see, that area used to have a spare tire carrier mounted there, and as one could imagine, a large tire hanging off, and tree? An accident waiting to happen!!
I’m pretty sure someone tried “repairing” it, with body fillers, lots of it, and didn’t hold up very well.
Below; google search proves again to locate what I need to make things happen! I found Classic Enterprises which fabricates panels for old jeeps and maybe some other things. Mark O’Brien was very helpful in that I need a little extra attention. His panels were too short for my application. So he had to make one for my application and had to be hand made!

Mark got it to me in record time! Now the fun begins!
After carefully figuring out where to cut with my 4.5″ angle cutter, I went to town! and the panel fit perfectly~ of course it did;)
Ok, it took a little more body filler than I thought it was going to take:( You didn’t think it would just melt together~ haha~
After epoxy, high build primers and a lot of sanding, the panel looks fabulous~ of course it does!!;)
I’m happy to say and write, that I love the way it turned out!
This is just one micro-blog in the restoration of this ’62 Willys Jeep (stay tuned!)~ it’s a journey filled with excitement, a few errors and always looking for misplaced tools! grrrr~
I sure hope you’ve enjoyed this little blog, and if you would, please subscribe to my CCT, that’s Classic Cars and tools, and you have something nice to say, please leave a note! 😉
