Dragon Fire Pro Billet distributor from AIP Electronics

Hi, I’m back again!;)  I’m Dne’ and this is my story and welcome to Classic Cars and Tools!

Finally getting around the starting my 5.0 in my 67 Mustang, but this story not only has to do with the distributor that I bought, but what a compliment can do! As adults or even young people, compliments are becoming rare~ people that are in business are more quickly ridiculed than praised for product or doing something good, it’s either 1-5 stars or a thumbs up or down, I just like to recognize good people on my Classic Cars & Tools and let them shine for their hard work;)

Hey, I’m Dne’, and welcome to my awesome garage and a warm welcome to Classic Cars and Tools!;)

The Dragon Fire Pro Billet distributor from AIP Electronics, which this blog is about, is awesome, but after I received it in record time, instead of giving just a click of a positive review(of which I did anyway)  I took time and wrote the seller and complimented them on the promptness, the actual item, and included a picture of my engine compartment. In a short while, I received a message from Kevin, AIP Electronics/ via email, saying he would be happy to give me a set of Dragon Fire Spark plug wires in exchange for a high-resolution of my 5.0! Over joyed, my response was Yes (of course!), now that’s a compliment!;)

A few days later I received a package containing the new Dragon Fire Series spark plug wires, a coil wire as I specified the length, and the cool spark plug wire retainers! Took me about an hour(or more) to install and make them look orderly and in a neat fashion.

A feature that I like is instead of screws holding the distributor cap down, it has old style GM type spring-loaded retainers; push and turn;)

My little mustang has ways to go before getting back on the road, but one step at a time, it will get there!;)

My new Dragon Fire Spark plug wires, a gift from AIP Electronics and retainers, ready to install! I just love new stuff!;)

Now, let’s get on with the review of this Dragon Fire Race Series Pro Billet Distributor!

Now You’re asking, “Dne’, why didn’t you just buy a replacement MSD distributor?”  Well my interested on looking classic car buff, let’s back up a bit~ about 2011, I was finally getting my first engine running and using an 850.oo (Ouch!) MSD distributor(including the Blaster SS coil)~ I took my brother for a ride and we stopped at a Panera bread to get a quick bite~ came out and my 289 would not start! Long story short, the MSD distributor died! We’re talking a pretty darned expensive distributor! After about a month or two I got a replacement and it worked well until my Mustang was flooded by Harvey.

August 26, 2017, Harvey hit us, the water line on the Triumph TR6 shows how high the water got, obviously the 67 Mustang was totally submerged under some pretty nasty water:(

Well, I just couldn’t bring myself to buy another pricey distributor, especially for someone like me which puts very low miles on her classic cars! The Dragon Fire Distributor at 150 bucks with Free shipping, what have I to lose, plus the Dragon Fire is incredibly beautiful, crisp, billet aluminum;)

In all honesty, I don’t know where this part is made or many of the parts in/on my classics, but I can tell you that most of the replacement parts for my 67 Mustang are made in: Taiwan, Indonesia, China and I’m sure a few other places I’ll never go to or be able to pronounce the names of the cities in those countries, but I am thankful that those countries are reproducing parts for our classic cars~;) That being written, I think this Dragon Fire Distributor will be great and will receive many compliments at the local car shows! I’m looking for positive reviews too!;)

OK, I guess that’s a wrap! I’d hope that if you’re looking at a distributor for your ride or other electronic parts, check out All_ignition/AIP Electronics on eBay and see what they have! I have no ties with the company, but did get an awesome set of spark plug wires and will look towards them for my other electronic needs! 😉

Please subscribe to CC&T for updates, I try to make it informative, educational, and above all~ fun!!  😉

Stunningly beautiful! The engine bay doesn’t look bad either.
