59 Chevy truck neutral safety switch- Lokar

Hi ya’ll! This little blog is about the neutral safety switch and the shifter for my Th350 transmission.  I chose the Lokar brand because it’s simple and easy to install!  We classic car restorers/restomodders have it really easy~ we just find what we need on the internet! I can’t imagine how folks in the past made things work! We’re just spoiled kids today!

As usual, I don’t do very well with instructions, so I call upon Shaun to help me! ; ) a little fun here! ; )  Shaun always puts a smile on my face!  oh, if you didn’t know, you can click on a picture to make it larger for a better view!

It’s about the easiest thing I’ve installed on my truck project! I was really worrying about how I was going to connect a neutral safety switch until I called my good friend Justin at Scottshotrods.com  IF I have a problem, I call him and he always fixes me up with a part that will keep me going forward in my progress!

This is the Lockar shifter that comes down from my Ididit steering column to the Th350.

The neutral safety switch (NSS) can also act as a back up light switch, but supposedly cannot be used as both a NSS and backup light switch.  So in my case, I need a NSS!  I still need to run the wires to the little switch; not a biggy (I hope) ; )4_IMG_2185_comp

It’s quite simple, it bolts to the transmission and you have to kind of play with the adjustment on the bolt that affixes the little bracket to the tranny.4_IMG_2183_comp

This was a simple solution for a problem I thought I was going to have! If you need a part for your hotrod, call Justin at Scottshotrods! Tell him I said hello!
