Wildfire XLT 9000lb 4 post car lift

Hi, dne’ here;)  When looking for a 4 post lift, I had done like pretty much like everyone else I’m sure (search the internet and see what people are saying), what are the factors? Cost, bang for the buck, quality, etc. I found Wildfire lifts on the Houston Craigslist and took a chance and called the number to see what’s up!

67 Mustang coupe, waiting for re-restoration after having been under 6′ of Harvey the hurricane’s flood water. Note: the hydraulic pump on the wall is for my MaxJax lift.

Actually didn’t take much to sell this lift to me, I wanted a lift so badly and this Wildfire lift looked really good!  However there were two lifts in my category to choose from, but I really needed the extra height and width between the poles for my needs so I chose the XLT.

Not too long before I bought the Wildfire lift, I had my Maxjax working in the same spot, so there are anchors in the concrete if I need them. I’m sure I could use the Maxjax along with the Wildfire lift.

Really and truly, the new Wildfire XLT lift was and still is like a new toy in my garage!;) I’m impressed at how high a vehicle can go with respect that it won’t hit the 14′ ceiling, and notice my Dodge Ram 4×4 fits perfectly under the lift, room to spare!

Now, just because you put casters to jack this XLT lift, doesn’t mean it’s going to roll with ease, but if one does want to move it, my husband and I did OK. How else would you move it!;) It’s actually crossed my mind to install non-swiveling casters so when moving the lift, it will go straight, but how often would someone be moving the entire lift?

Getting it home?  The lift is shipped to a local trucking place, so all you need to do is go get it when its time;) All the 4×4’s wasn’t my idea, Brad sent me a photo(below) of a guy which did this and so I did the same, maybe a little overboard;)  When my Gary n I went to go get it, after it was loaded, it came a Houston frog strangler! RAIN came down big time! It didn’t hurt anything, but the cardboard was rather soggy, but the lift was fine.

Brad sent me a couple of pictures which were sent in by a customer, I “copied” what he did;) I have a BigTex 14′ trailer but mine is not a flat-bed.

When it came to unpacking it, I just took my sweet time, watching my body mechanics in lifting things I probably shouldn’t be lifting!  I honestly don’t remember how long it took me to assemble, but it was in a days time.

I won’t go into detail how to assemble it, Brad and his associate in the How To Assemble video made it look quite easy, but a ramp alone is around 700lbs!  Fortunate for me, I had my home-built Gantry crane doing all the work, I just had to use my brain like assembling a great big erector set!

Several months later, Brad sent me this ever so cool Wildfire banner! I sent him this pic;)

If you’re looking for a 4 post lift, at least please give Brad a call and hear him out. Do your homework before mailing a check. I have no regrets and Brad has been tremendously helpful through the installation process. It should be a fun time having something like this in your own shop!

Hi! Today 5-15-19 I needed to remove the rear wheels on my 67 Stang, so using my 2 ton Tripod stands from Greg Smith Equipment, I just lowered the lift onto the stands therefore raising the rear axle off! Dang I’m good!! 😉
