67 Mustang coupe exhaust tips

Hi gang! Have you ever added something to your classic car, then stand back and wonder, “what was I thinking” kind of moment?  btw, This is just a short blog;)

When I had the stang taken on a flat-bed to have the exhaust put on, I was thinking large exhaust tips~ something to represent a large engine kind of thinking! Then at a car show, an impressive young man (17 y/o) kind of fell in love with my Mustang, but he asked, “why those exhaust tips?”, I was kind of embarrassed in response, I promised him that I’d be removing them soon enough!

Anyway, I was a little reluctant to cut/weld near the gas tank, and almost decided to let Manny at Affordable mufflers do it, but I was bound and determined to save that 50 bucks he would have charged me~ it wasn’t that bad after all!

As I was searching through my thousands of pictures during the restoration/restomod process, this pic always seems to catch my attention! omg! I’d hate to be at this point in time again! If I had only had my Maxjax car lift then!

Anyway, about a year or so ago, I had bought some exhaust tips meant for a ’70 Mustang which I thought are very flattering, especially to match my exhaust cutouts in the valance. You know how it is, they sat on a shelf collecting dust until, “I think I’ll install these today” kind of moment!

In addition, though you can just make em out, a friend gave me a set of ET bars (extra traction bars), really old school stuff. Should make for added conversations at the local car shows! I don’t know how long I’ll keep them on there; they are easy enough to remove if they make noise, or I grow weary of them.

Well, that’s it for today! I have an incredible amount of blogging that I need to put on my Classic Cars and Tools, so be watching over the next few weeks!

Until next time, your car enthusiast friend, dne’ 😉
